My buddy and I dove OG yesterday and the water was the clearest I have seen in over a decade. The duckweed layer was superthin and I placed a long tree branch at the bottom of the steps to clear the duckweed so as to see where to make a safe giant stride entry. The limestone shelf just below the shelf sticks out of the water about a foot and getting in with BM120s was very easy.
I am stilling pissed off at myself for not bringing my gopro on this dive. I could clearly see the surface all the way from the westernmost entrance to the cavern at a depth of 80'. We hung around the cavern for awhile before making the grand traverse. The water clarity was phenomenal until reaching the peanut restriction. After that point, it was less than optimal. Exiting peacock was easy to do as well. You should have no problem getting out with BM tanks by using the ladder on the south side of the platform.

You won't rope me in to that one. And just to prove I don't hate SM-only divers, I handed one SM diver all 4 of his tanks so he didn't have to get in & out of the water to make me wait a long time to exit. Btw, with BM I was able to stand on the limestone shelf below the steps at OG and and then rest my tanks on the bottom step while sitting. Then I reached over with the branch to clear the water while sitting. It was the easiest entry into OG I've ever made with BM120s.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DOING OG RIGHT NOW!!! It is beautiful.

I climbed out of OG in BACKMOUNT (OMG!) on Sunday. I cheated and ran a handline off the railing before the dive though. It wasn't great exiting, but not as bad as if I'd had the 104s instead of the 85s.I would NOT have wanted to try it without a handline. Back to the gym....after the chiropractor...

Shirley you're not serious? No, I'm not, but do stop calling me Shirley.
Do I need to bring my single rope equipment with me to dive at WGPSSP?

The water level is about 4 feet below the top step at P1 - Getting in and out with BM doubles was no problem for any of us on 4/23.
