Yup the vis is not what yall are used to in JB. I have to say it is crystal clear to me compaired to the systems I have to dive back home in the cooler water.
Well to start with it looked nice from over the top on the diving board platform and as I was getting my tanks on in the water there bye the wall. Once I got in I could see it was changing. the cavern area is not to bad. Once I got in I got to were the gold line starts and could look out and the water was more green then blue and I could see the fish. The vis in the are before the chimny was about 30 foot and as I dropped down and stayed on the main line I could look over and see the other wall. I could see Chicken Head with no problem when I was on the line looking for it. The further I got back the clearer the water was. After the second break down I thought I had about 40 foot of vis.
After the dive I stoped bye the great ole Cave Adventururers and met up with Roger and had him walk away a distance and then Frank came out with a tape and we came up with what I thought was about 30 feet ended up being 45 feet in length.
I had a DR 10w HID so if I had a differant light what would it do? I wonder. Kind of wish I could have had differant lights to see the differance in backscatter.
The vis I bet will only imporve and hope to get a dive tomorow in there and maybe even in HNW and maybe even Twin to get some reports out.
