I think most of us know, whether we object or agree, that the policy of state parks is NO SOLO DIVING.
Somebody was noted to be diving solo at Jug Hole. FWIW,if the parks feel this is a problem it would more likely result in you having to either 1)get a pre-arranged diving reservation 2)checking in with a ranger first. In the winter when they cut back staffing this would be a hassle, especially in a large park trying to find a single ranger. For those who don't remember Jug Hole was closed for several years, and it took some effort to reopen-please don't screw it up for everybody else.

I personaly understand why state parks are against solo diver because of the sue first mentality but as far as business aspect there would be alot more divers if solo was permitted, or even having a board where people like me could have posted a little memo telling other divers that i was looking for buddies,, i know trying this didnt work! but i know as a solo diver i would have paid dbl to dive(same price as 2 cars) just myself so i could of had the oprotunity to see more systems. The next time i head to cave country i am sure i will make several posts online here only to be veiwed without response yet again but i know of a couple systems where i can do the solo thing until i maybe get lucky enough to find a buddy to hook up with.
