Cora and I dove that last year
She brought water testing gear and the manager said to go ahead
We couldn't get past the restriction due to the flow though

There are some streams in the area that have odd warm parts also
But we couldn't find any other openings

After watching it looks a bit different
There wasn't near the pile of rock around the hole
Was there a pipe from the station just beyond the restriction to the right?

The water pipe is long before the restriction to the right

Steve Cushman from surface interval is pretty active in that area and showed it to us
I always get nervous around pipes and such, probably stuck in my mind

So how far did you'all get?!!
I've not yet felt flow that hard since

Brett managed to make it through the triangle restriction (the one in the video). From there he said there was a small room with lots of solution tubes on the ceiling and another restriction to the left. At that point his gas supply had been diminished and the current seemed just as strong... We plan on returning with changes in equipment and techniques???

Just looking at the available information about known springs in Texas, there have to be far more caves than what are publicly known. This just proves it.

If you need anyone to tag along on future dives let me know, even if its just to hold a video camera!

Just looking at the available information about known springs in Texas, there have to be far more caves than what are publicly known.

I was told by a govt biologist in TX that there are a lot of underwater caves in TX. The problems are:

1) They are on private land and the owner is terrified of anyone finding an endangered species, this locks up their ability to sell the land in the future, etc.
2) They are on private land and the owner wanted to lock up the land for one reason or another (to combat against the proposed Trans-US Corridor or to stop infighting of the kids over the land for example) but the cave then becomes govt protected.
3) They are on govt land to begin with so good luck getting into them.

I don't blame the land owners. In GA, if beavers dam up a creek, the State can declare it wetlands and then the land owner no longer has control of their own property.
