They are Pressed Steel E7-100s. I took some pictures of all his stuff to post for him, but I need to locate my camera...

    No, it's not. It's an E-Series E7-100. 3442psi.

HP-100s are rated at 3500psi, use a different type of steel, and more importantly, have the skinny 7/8 neck. These have the 3/4 neck and use normal valves.

I'm still trying to upload the pics I took - I'm having internet problems. I even tried to e-mail them to another moderator, but the connection keeps cutting out.

I can say that all the stuff is in good shape and the prices are in line with what things are selling for these days. The BC is an original TransPac but is in great shape (I believe he said it was Paul Heinerth's old TransPac), the cylinders are in good shape, the reel looks great, and all the regs are in good shape. Hopefully I'll get the images uploaded soon.

It can get confusing with all the tanks PST made. I have a set of the old sherwood HP100s made by PST that have the skinny neck. I love those tanks, and the reason these caught my eye. I know PST made the E7's which are different, although my understanding is their buoyancy characteristics are similar to the PST sherwoods. What I never got a straight answer to is the E-7 are newer production than the 3500s correct? That was how I had understood it, but recently someone tried telling me that PST was producing E7s and the 3500s at the smae time, which doesn't make logical sense to me. You seem HP/E7 savvier than me by far. What is the truth?

When I got a bunch of PST LP-80s (2001 or 2002), they made both HP-100s and LP-80s, which were very similar except for the size of the neck. (The metal was said to be slightly different.) They re-marked the LP-80s as E7-100s, rating them for 3442 instead of 2400, around this time. I believe they made all three (LP-80, E7-100, and HP-100) simultaneously, for a very short time. I was able to get four LP-80s for under $100 apiece (dealer cost) when they were discontinuing them.
