I agree with Joe. Squeezing through a place isn't the same as just having poor skills. I think a lot of divers use a scooter to hide those skills but if you look at all the bump marks at JB in ten foot tall passages its pretty obvious they actually suck on them.

Most people don't really care about conserving the cave, they care about seeing the conserved cave. Busting through a restriction to open up another 1000' of cave is perfectly OK, but scraping along any cave that doesn't require it is poor form. I don't disagree.

How many people would complain about Morrison Springs if the blasting would have been done to open up a new section?

Big difference between busting through and squeezing through. I for one dont care to see anything done to reopen. The cave at Morrison. I also to this day dislike the so called improvements there.

Some of you are comparing my brussell sprouts to your lima beans.

Morrison was busted close, I would have no problems with restoring it to a more natural state of being.

I really don't think thats whats being discussed here.

My point was that no one really cares (or not very many at least) if you damage a cave to open it up or because it's required to get there.

I haven't seen any fragile features In these places. Big difference between slipping through an area and removing the dark color you are use to seeing than being UNABLE to control yourself on a dive and damage the cave. If people use a hammer or tool to break rock to go further I think you would have a point.

OK, but you used a horrible analogy for it...

The reason you can't cave dive Morrison, is because the sheriff blew the entrance. I do not equate moving debris originated by what man did a couple decades ago(ok, half century), to get in the cave, anywhere within the same universe as damaging a cave to gain entry.

    hand prints in clay banks
In more then one spot on this board I have heard that this is considered vandalism... Why? I understand it looks bad and may demonstrate someone who had bad buoyancy.
