In your original post you said "a lot of experience in doubles". If someone intending on taking cave has no experience in doubles, it seems you think they should just take cavern in a single. I think they should get a set of doubles, get 6-8 dives in them, and take cavern in doubles. Diving doubles is not hard. If you have anyone who has any idea what they are doing, you can be trimmed out in a weekend.
