Default Whole set up changed, weight question

I've recently gone from diving wet with a 7 mil double faber 95's to Dry, light undergarments and double pst 104's.

Question is, both diving wet and dry I have never used any lead. my buoyancy and trim have alwayse been spot on diving wet and I'm becoming just as proficient diving dry. At 10' in a pool I have a couple blast worth of air in the suit and a 2 or 3 second blast of air in the wing. Tanks at 3400 psi. In yalls experience how do 104's react when there around 1000psi?

If I do add weight, how do y'all like v-weights. I'm thinking 5lbs at most. Any more than that and I dont think the tanks would be manageable to carry around.

Sorry for the basic question, just need some input.

With my double PST 104's I have never needed weight at all, even when diving dry.

Pressed Steel 104s? At 1000psi they're a boat anchor. At 3600psi they're two boat anchors.

That is one way of putting it! But oh so true.

If you are already playing in the pool why don't you simply drain them and find out yourself?

I'm going to eventually. Here in Hilton Head the closest fill station is about an hour 15 away from me. Closest fresh water pond that isn't infested with gators is 45 minutes and that's only 20' deep. So I'm just going to keep hopping in the pool and going to the pond when I get a chance to practice and deplete the air through training time.

You probably should find out the bouyancy based on when your tanks are almost empty. In an emergency when gas is running low, the last thing you want is to be positively bouyant. With the setup you have, I would expect you would still be able to stay down is shallow water with very low psi.

I run a steel backplate and my can light gives 3 lbs of negative weight. I also use PST 104s or 130s. I used to use an aluminum backplate, but anymore I dive with several stages and it can get tough to stay down when those stages start getting empty. When using stages, I also like to throw in a v-weight.
