It has been covered in duckweed, but flooding events which Cow is prone too,has swept away the duckweed mat.

As a related aside, its unfortunate that Peacock closes at a fixed time rather than adjusting the time 3-4 times a year to reflect the various later sunset times in spring, summer and fall, or better yet, just closing it 1 hour prior to sunset and adjusting the clock weekly to reflect the time. That would reduce the potential for divers to dive there, then dive elsewhere.
This is something the NFSA is working on,but since this one comes from higher up it takes time. We are hoping to have something in place when we get closer to a time change.

There are some similar types of cave salamanders in the caves in Italy and Croatia, they look like these :

We've noted duck weed in previous years, and although i don't log its presence or absence on a dive or trip, my impression has always been that we see it a lot less frequently than at OG or peacock so the direction of the travel seems pretty obvious.

We are none the less grateful the infestation is not more or less a chronic issue when the temps are warm enough as it's nice when Cow stays clear given that it is such a pretty spring.

Later closing at Peacock would be great if you can make it happen and might also help ease diver pressure at what are now peak times in the day.

Are you kidding? I know divers that don't clean their gear between trips to Florida.

Yeah, I'm holding my breath on this one.
