Our fire dept runs 6,000psi in the compressor bank (working pressure 4,500psi on SCBA). 6K psi would put 240 cu ft in each tank. Hmmm.

And I thought my 108s were heavy! Full that would weigh about 132lbs. With 3600psi my 108s weigh about 120lbs holding 295cf so wow you would get an additional 100cf in a single tank. But they compare the size to an Aluminum 80 which weighs about 68 lbs less empty. This thing has to be just over 90 lbs negative when full. That'll boost the sales of those OMS 90lb wings.

A better deal would be composite tanks- at least they are light enough you can put them in the truck and carry a decent amount of "banked" gas to extremely obscure places without crushing the helper springs. (too late.)

Large Spheres for banked gas. I have ~18" diameter spheres that weigh ~60 lbs empty. WP 7K psi, internal volume of about 1.7 cu ft. ~800 cuft Full of air or Nitrox total weight of ~125 lbs.

    Not DOT however.

NOW you've done it. And where, prey tell does one find these spheres? And at what cost? Curious minds want to drive them to mexico?

I think the compressors he had were good to 6k, and the tank holding sleeves were way too small for the giant tanks he had as mockups... And the compressors were submerged in water for quiet and cool operation, too.
