10,000 psi 400cuft scuba tank
Almost forgot.
There was a guy at DEMA with two 400cuft tanks (yes 400cuft). The flip side was that you needed his 10,000psi compressor to fill them properly. Each tank also weighed 100lbs empty. I asked him what one weighed full, and he said he would have to look it up (B.S.!).
Anyway, you could use any reg, as there was an internal regulator that stepped the pressure down to 3000psi at the connection port.
I think it was called "Fat Tank".

Problem is nobody will be able to fill them and i don't even want to know about the maintenance on a 10,000psi compressor.
Maybe a step to far. A few years back the 300bar got popular in europe and if i remember it right this was kind of the max pressure that makes sense to fill tanks to. 300 bar is somewhere around 4400 psi.
One problem with compressing air is that from 200 bar / 2900 psi on the your curve air volume to pressure is not linear anymore and kind of flattens out in a curve.
If you go up to 300 bar/ 4350 psi you are loosing about 10% of air volume on air and about 30% with helium, at the same time the amount of work required to compress goes up as well. Pretty much max of 270 bar / 3900 psi is where it levels out to economic and realistic to fill tanks to.
So he might need to look up a few other things as well!

Wonder if it is the same guy that was a DEMA a few years back with the Titanium 5000 psi tanks. He couldn't tell you what they would cost, or that you could get them...they were military purpose??

Not sure "cluster tank" will help with marketing this idea. Reaching 10K psi is trivial with the appropriate Booster. I used to have a Haskel that would pump to 25K.
