Whats really embarrassing is they take up the area under the only pavillion out there, I've seen/heard them deny access to tables out there when people are trying to get out from under the rain.

If I were there, I'd have my buddy go talk with them while I videoed the incident.
Land of Enchantment -- not so great for cave diving, but mighty scenic!
Excellent idea Squirrel Girl I was voting for a officer of the law cave diver approaching them with a little less tact!
I have a collapsable table for just such incidents as this but it is a pain to haul around all the time.
It makes putting doubles on easier than on the ground! Been there....done that!
I am very impressed with the cave community as a whole that some of our more militant members have not beaten the SXXT out of these unyielding, rude, ignorant, ah I will just leave it at that!
We have the same BS here in the heat of training season about entry and egress from the quarries.
One thing is certain you try to live and let live but there always comes a time when a throw down takes place!
Something tells me we all loose then!
Ah to yearn for a simpler day when you could smack a fellow then shake hands share a beer and drive away! Yeah right!

It is very interesting how things haven't changed that much in the past 40 years. I was at a similar place shortly after I was certified, and a large shop had dominated the quarry, with loud talking, braggart, instructors. To prove that one could be an instructor, without being a "SXXT", I became an instructor myself.
I do like Kelly's idea of putting in tank benches for cavedivers. Does anyone know who to contact over there?
Ya know...I been wanting to try out my five point palm exploding heart technique...that wouldn't be classified as a dive accident, right?

My name is Shirley Kasser Creech and I approve this message. Well, at least one of me does, anyway. Maybe. Fire. Sharp things. Squirrel!
Shirley you're not serious? No, I'm not, but do stop calling me Shirley.
Yep, same group I've seen. I've also seen them interrupt other instructors so it's an ongoing problem. This is also the same shop that hands out a page long diatribe to all divers getting steel cylinders filled against overfilling these cylinders and he uses blatantly incorrect information that is against all the laws of physics.
Great idea! As Mat has pointed out, though, they take the area under the pavilion, and they usually take the entire area up so no one else can get in there. While building additional tables and benches for divers would take care of the issue with divers, we still have that group that alienates the non-divers.Originally Posted by Kelly Jessop
Actually, the restriction could possibly be passed. The issue would be that in doing so you would plug up the flow and cause much of the gravel and sand to fall in after you. You would then have to dig your way out from 100'+ depth while being pushed into it by the flow coming at you from behind!Originally Posted by CaveBuddy95
