OK, I guess I should have stated this before. There's no reason to do this dive on anything more than a single tank and Y or H valve. The maximum depth at the very back is maybe ~85', but most of it is in the 50-60' range, and with only 600' of cave passage you'll find the going a lot better with the single tank than trying to hump doubles or side mount down to the water.

I think sidemounted smaller tanks would be a lot safer than a single!

I'd preffer to have two tanks, but I make it a point not to bring anything large for a dive at Jug. Depths can get into the 100' range.

Sidemount is best, and it's quite worth the trip. My 85s slip right through. I wouldn't want a tank on my back to beat up the cave, especially in the bedding plane.

Take a cart, the kind with fatty tires works best. It is better when it's cooler, but then what isn't?!

I thought that NCDA or NSS-CDS placed a cart at the ranger station to haul the gear down to Jug? Was that a proposal that never happened or what?

NFSA put a 4 wheeled cart out there... Divers overloaded and busted it. Amigo's put a 4 wheeled cart out there.... Divers overloaded and busted it. I think maybe there was one or two other carts put out there, that were overloaded and busted.

Moral of the story, there's too many lazy, stupid, careless cave/rn divers.

Bring your own cart. That way, if you are stupid and careless, you're only hurting your own means of getting gear to the water.

My deer cart works pretty good but Im still whooped when I get there. Too bad you cant use the service road to load and unload gear.

There is a professional welder working on a heavier duty cart. Hopefully it will be done by October
