It all depends - can you run a grill?

Seriously, there will be plenty of people to dive with.

Grilling is to barbecue as tic-tac-toe is to chess. Barbecue is a fine art with a multiplicity of variables, where grilling is the simple and brief application of flame to meat.

It may be beneath the dignity of a barbecue chef to condescend to scorch meat on the lowly and plebian grill, but I don't believe for a minute that you can't do a fine job of it!

The people who have done the grilling at previous socials do the most curious thing: they put aluminum foil over the grill slats, so they are effectively frying the meat. I don't think I could do that. When I grill, the fat drips onto the coals and smokes back up to the meat.

GL isn't diving - we'll make HER be grillmaster!

I think that's how you're supposed to do it. Insulating the meat from the smoky goodness with Al foil makes no sense at all!

I wish I could be there, but it's a little too far. Besides, I have to work - somebody's got to take care of the New Year's Eve revelers that mix revelry and automobiles.

But we're headed for Dive Outpost in 46 days!

I'll be there and looking forward to meeting you. Who knows, we might get in a dive or two.
