Who negotiated the 2 for 1 diving special last year? That would foster some interest.

Russell, I hope you choose Ginnie. It would not be the same without you.

Okay, we need to make a go of this. Marissa and/or BobK, one of you needs to talk to Ginnie staff and see if we can do like we have in years past - two-for-one pass, free pavilion, whatever. Lynn and I bought a Winnebago last month and hadn't decided whether we'd be at Ginnie or JB, but we're going on a cruise on January 2, and it looks like it'll be Ginnie for us on NYE.

BobK and Marissa, you have my number. If you don't, it's 706/326-3001. Call me Sunday or any time after.

I made a call into Ginnie, Rose and Ariel do not remember any 2 for 1 kind of deal for last year... Does anyone remember exactly what it was? She thought maybe it was pay the night before and be able to dive the next day, also.... Does that sound right? The Pavilions are on a first come first serve basis or you can reserve one for a fee... I live very close to Ginnie so on New Years I could go over and put up something so that we have dibs on that pavilion if need be. Ariel is going to talk to Rose more and give me a call back.

What they usually do is those that sign in to dive on December 31 get another wristband for January 1.

If we were to do a daytime social we'd want the Little Devil pavilion. It's up to the CDF members to decide if enough people are interested in doing a daytime social. In the past they've never charged us for a pavilion since a social usually brings in about forty to fifty divers (at $22 apiece that's in the thousand bucks range).

We have never "reserved" a pavilion for the midnight dive because we're pretty much the only people in the park. We have always had our pick of either Ginnie pavilion (I've been doing this almost every year since 1998).

So it's up to the members: do we want a full-fledged social from 10am-4pm at the Little Devil pavilion (which involves everybody bringing an item such as a pack of burgers or a big bag of chips or a 12-pack of drinks) and then a hotdog cookout and Galaxy Dive as we approach midnight? Or do we just do the mini-cookout and midnight dive? I'm up for either, but it all depends on the amount of interest.

    So let's hear opinions.

Since NYE is on Saturday, how about we do ONE BIG social that day, afternoon and evening, and later do the midnight dive?

I think that sounds great! I'd be glad to help coordinate things. Ariel should be calling me back soon and I will talk to her about that.
