    Default Dove Telford yesterday

Parked at the boatramp with about 8 others vehicles. Could hear frollicking at the spring. [gatejumpers] Got in the river and current tried to float my mask and helmet away before getting tanks clipped off. River water was hot . Started walking backwards with fins on in the shallows and removed them which was better till I hit deeper water, so I put em back on. Going over submerged logs and snags was a pain and luckily the bushlines someone had tied were hookless. The spring looked and felt much better. After resting we dropped into Telford where Greenwood had his reel tied in.[Saw his Jeep at the ramp]. Flow was down and vis was good. Lots of silt on the crevises going in. Saw the light of Telford Sink ahead and the light of Jason and Gisselle. I figured they saw us coming and when I got closer I could see they were fiddling with the gap reel so I grabbed her arm. I could tell by the look thru her mask that they hadnt seen us coming. We surfaced and decided to all go a bit further. Swam to the next sink, [Durado Chasm] and was gonna tie in to proceed but they decided to turn on 6ths and we had a rented light from Linda we needed to get back, so we exited with them. Pretty dusty exit and evident not many divers in anymore. Bubbles was loosening things up all over. Not a bad late evening third dive, kinda short but going slow, lots to see. The trip back down river was better. I personally wont be swimming the river upstream for this anymore and my buddy Chris agreed. Being a great BS'er if anyone has the phone number of the owners, PM it to me and Ill try to wheel and deal my way in there the easy way next time.

The first time that I did Telford, I walked/swam up the river. Climbing over the trees was a real PITA. One of my fin spring straps lost the metal pin and I ended up tieing it together with cave line to do the dive.

The second time was much easier. I dropped to the bottom of the river and kicked and pulled/glide all the way to the spring run. I surfaced in the middle of a huge "local" party. There were kayaks, canoes and even an airboat. I scared the crap out of them when I popped up, but they were all very friendly and they even helped me carry my BO out of the run after the dive.

God , it is nice to have a rebreather and not worry about wasting 10 minutes of gas just to get there.

Giselle and I got some 4200 psi fills, then headed up the river doing the bottom crawl. The river is damn hot, and not very comfortable to be doing that sort of work in. We seem to scare/entertain the locals every time we pop out of the murk. We got up to the spring and some local kid come up to Giselle and ask her how many days she was going to be in the cave.
