I hate myflex hoses. I do not dive with ahood and my neck gets rubbed raw.

I have to teach it to support my cave habit. I'm like a cave crack head. I can justify just about anything to help me get my next fix.

I've used them on inflator and spg. I don't like them either. Too scratchy. They rub everything raw, including other hoses (I keep regs in milk crate when not using them). The high-pressure hose is a skinny thing that will not obey orders to stay still or to lay flat. It twists and turns and refuses to streamline.

The miflex HP hoses work ok in applications where you bend them back against the reg, but won't stay flat against the tank if you use that approach, and I prefer that when carrying stages in sidemount.

The early HP hoses had issues with the fittings on the end cutting the hose, but the latest variety have little rubber hose protectors and it no longer appears to be a problem.

I had them at one point but I just didn't like them for many reasons. They don't lie flat and rub on the skin and they rub on dry suit neck seals. three strikes. I went back to all rubber hoses.

I have them on everything and love them. Smaller, lighter, and much more flexible. I dive drysuit, so no skin to rub against. However, the new Phantom hoses do the same thing and are far less expensive. I found that with the Phantom I had to unscrew the needle valves in them about 1/4 turn to get full output. I have a lot of rubber hoses hanging in my garage now, as the Miflex and Phantom have replace everything, even on my bailouts. Guess I'm using 20 of them now.

Rebreathers are something that we have to go to in order to dive the way we want to dive. They are not something we go to for any other reason.

    Default miflex hoses

I have used these for the short HP gauge (6") connection to my deco bottle--have found them unsatisfactory in that they abrade easily in the caves--have always noticed it before a problem, but no longer trust them

There was a HUGE thread on The Deco Stop about how bad the HP 6" hoses are. Sadly, I found the thread a week after I bought a couple of them. Both failed right away. However the LP hoses never have caused me a problem.

Land of Enchantment -- not so great for cave diving, but mighty scenic!

Isn't the thread about LP hoses?
