I dived Jackson Blue yesterday. OMG, y'all. Now I remember why I open water dive during the summer. Put on a bathing suit, throw on a single and walk down to the water.

It was nice meeting you this weekend Sludge. Thanks for the tips on diving the system. We made it to the trash room in the morning and that evening made a circuit through the King's bypass and King's canyon. What a great system!

Gonna have to go farther north than Missouri. It's been 90 & 100 almost everyday this summer! And the water is still only 60 degrees, so still dry suit diving in my book.

Being originally from Michigan, I can tell you the wreck diving season is unfairly short so we try to make the most of it. No point in coming down to Florida when the wreck diving (and warm weather) is in full swing. If a Florida trip is in the cards, may as well wait until sometime between November - March to catch a break from the snow and frigid temps.

Even though when I lived in SE Michigan, I made several cave diving trips to N FL, 3-4 per year. All were between Thanksgiving and Easter (gotta work the paid holidays in there )

I'm sure the N East coast wreck boys are in the same boat...no pun intended.

Plus, as someone mentioned above, the economy sucks right now. Lot of people un and under employed.

Mike, you're right, as usual, as to one of the possibilities. I DIDN'T cave dive this weekend...shocker! OMG! Wreck diving....did my first Great Lakes dives this weekend. I'm unalterably hooked! That 38F water was SO refreshing after gearing up in the heat and swimming down through that warm-pee temp shallow water. I will definitely be missing at least one more weekend at the caves during the wreck season this year.

I agree! I flew up there once to dive it and RBD, but they wouldn't cooperate. I'll definitely be trying again
