When/where is the next one?

I assume the last one was at the CDS Conference in Marianna, but I guess I missed the announcement that it was happening.

its the middle of the summer even when the economy was better it the slow season. Divers head to the shore and wrecks

I dived Jackson Blue yesterday. OMG, y'all. Now I remember why I open water dive during the summer. Put on a bathing suit, throw on a single and walk down to the water.

Another option is to dive caves farther north. Yes, there are plenty of them

I would love to dive OG, or Peacock, but they don't allow solo diving there. It's hard to get a dive partner during a weekday.

Ive had OG to myself several times on weekends this year. We dont frequent Ginnie much because of the price to dive there and have to work during the week like most others so not sure how it is then. The heat isnt a reason to keep me away though. I would figure on the poor economy to be taking its toll as well.

Did some nice dives at ginnie over the last three days...ice room, sweet surprise, and mainline to the henkle, all very nice and not many divers at all in the system, flow is way down...Bill

What's up with Ginnie during the week? The last few times I have been up there on a weekday, I literally had the cave to myself. I used to see instructors teaching alot, and several vehicles parked at Devel's to cave dive. I am not crazy they went up on the fees for cavediving, but it's still a nice system.

Being originally from Michigan, I can tell you the wreck diving season is unfairly short so we try to make the most of it. No point in coming down to Florida when the wreck diving (and warm weather) is in full swing. If a Florida trip is in the cards, may as well wait until sometime between November - March to catch a break from the snow and frigid temps.

Even though when I lived in SE Michigan, I made several cave diving trips to N FL, 3-4 per year. All were between Thanksgiving and Easter (gotta work the paid holidays in there )

I'm sure the N East coast wreck boys are in the same boat...no pun intended.

Plus, as someone mentioned above, the economy sucks right now. Lot of people un and under employed.
