Default water management vs cavedivers (please need info)

Well, here is a BIG thing going on in the background in some areas where some people see caves as a source of water for hotels, and are discussing and pushing hard to forbid cavediving with the BS that is a protected area....

I'd love, very much, to have information about the laws and the way this is managed in florida, it is really important for us right now, and if the source is an official source is even better.

we need to show evidence that cavediving is not evil
how parks manage the water?, how water companies manage cavediving?, how everything works together in FL???

This is of course all going on in our back and quietly, but I need to collect that info to show up and present that information to government people before they act in the way the intere$$ted people want them to do.

thanks a lot, all info would be wellcome

You may want to start by changing your avatar. Just sayin.

Probably the best approach would be to offer to help manage the aquifer (water supply). Some cave divers in the US provide valuable data about quality of the water in the aquifer, as well as maps and other data needed to properly manage the water supply.

all that is being done already, but the people behind still trying to stop divers, the research is ok, but how do they keep the caves open to divers in FL?? there is always big interest in the water.
Is there any agreement of any kind or something?, they say we kinda "contaminate" the water reserve, but they don't care about the swimmers with a full bottle of sunblock spread in their bodies.

How is that kind of situations managed by NSS-CDS and NACD?? have to be some background that could help us.

Want to suck the aquiffer dry during a severe drought? No problem!

all info is wellcome, the actual concern right now is not the pumps, is the way to keep cavediving allowed there. In madison they are pumping water?? not sure if they installed that plant? diving still allowed right?
    where else??

All you need to do is show them the $$ that cave diving brings to the area. Hotels, restaurants, tourist junk shops ect......once they realize that THEY are getting money from the activity, directly and indirectly, the moral ?s and concern for the "environment" seem to magicly float away like a wispy cloud.

well, are there statistics in other countries? here is not a big market yet.
Their are basing his thing in a pure BS protection, they only care about drilling a big hole on top and sucking the water up, that's the thing, we need to show we can be beneficial not only for researching how much they are destroying the environment or analyzing how good is the water they are sucking.

Wingman did a study of cavediver economic impact in FL. Send him a PM and ask for a copy.
