AL bottles are good for 30 years, right? So that gives another 5 or 7 years on 'em?
Would you split and ship?

Isn't the 6351 the metal that is no longer allowed to be filled per DOT? Anything older the June of 1990? Does that sound right? Don't want to hurt a sale, but I don't want to see someone get hurt either.
The DOT now requires a VE test at hydro. The rest is scuba industry bull ****. Biggest problem is finding shops that will fill them. I can make a list of the ones I know of.
Would rather not ship, but happy to drop them in cave country next trip.

Thanks for clearing that up. I remember seeing something at a fill station about 6351. Dive safe.

$125 and I drop them at CE or CEE this weekend.

We still fill them at Deep Six Divers in Lakeland. There is no shelf life on AL tanks, as long as they pass hydro and visual they can be filled. That is a great deal, the manifold and bands are worth that.

Glad to see others are aware of the industry wide bull**** about 6351 tanks. If divers would research the facts instead of taking the word of others they would find out the truth which is a ruse to sell new tanks. It's spread all over and only the really informed shops will give 6351 tanks a fill. I agree that a VE or vis+ is a must for these tanks since the threads are the critical area.

Chuck, do you fill tanks for minimum wage? You know, with the cylinder neck right next to the boys?
Been there. Won't fill a 6351.
