Thread: newbies ?

    Default newbies ?

Am I the only newbie on here? It seems that most posters are Full cave or Instructors?
Have I wandered beyond my training level ?

I'm full cave. And a newbie. Regardless of your training level we can all still learn

Today is my first day. It feels like that anyway. Cave diving is a continual learning process. The day you think you are no longer a newbie is the day you need to quit.

I am not a newbie, but I'm not quitting! I don't have enough cave dives under my belt to quit, but too many to be new. There are way too many caves, way too much new stuff to learn, and way too cool of dives yet to be. There is a hierarchy of experience I seem to remember...novice, practitioner, experienced, very experienced, or some such scale. I am practitioner. or novice if newbie comes first and novice comes second. And knowing you are one level above newbie does not mean complacent.

I'm a rookie compared to most on here. Lots to learn and good place to do it! Welcome aboard!

Shirley you're not serious? No, I'm not, but do stop calling me Shirley.

It's a lot like rock climbing. The second you don't respect the rocks they kill you.
