Hmmm, so we know who caused it

Okay, Smarty Pants, here's the story on mine: it was about three years ago. I passed a team of three divers at p300'. They were heading into the cave. I scootered to somewhere past the Trash Room (I don't remember exactly where) and when I was exiting, vis suddenly went to crap at p700'. It cleared up at p400'. After exiting the water I asked the others what had happened. They didn't know what I was talking about; they had turned their dive at p400'.

Whoever said money can't buy love never bought a puppy.

Non cave diving friends of mine have seen pictures of Peacock and Madison Blue (among others) that had some huge breakdown on the floor. I never really make a point of mentioning the breakdown but usually someone will say "look at the size of those rocks".

Now anyone that has dove Madison knows what I'm talking about, fairly early on in the dive over your right shoulder are slabs on the floor the size of grand pianos.

When the non cavediving friend mention this, I simply say..."yea, and they didn't grow there."

Takes a second for the reaction.

First they just pause for a second or two to think about what I just said as their looking at the photos. Then it's followed with a slow wide eye'd turn of the head toward me with no comment. Followed by that "Are you out of your friggin' mind" look.

My favourite part of sidemount diving is squeezing through a low bedding plain in low viz and hearing a rumble as a car or train or gremlin goes somewhere on the surface. Slow is smooth, smooth is fast

I know exactly what you mean. The cavern at JB has boulders the size of semi's you swim over LOL

The DR has similar breakdown type caves with huge house sized boulders etc.. with one difference that is not cool at all, the DR is an active geological country and has many earthquakes, not cool....
