    hmmm let me recap also
I'm not calling anyone dumb, idiots, evil or discrediting any shop for taking down compressors after reports of bad gas. I'm definitely not asking for any additional regulations or government enforcement, did you guys read my posts?

I think it's interesting that many shops in states where it isn't required seem to not bother with third party analysis...if it wasn't required in Florida i'd still only shop where it was done. CO is only one possible contaminant gas, nice to have numbers for the others. The Spree posted to scuba board that they used their analysis results to look into causes...what a forward looking concept.

If you believe asking for online posting is bullying we'll just have to disagree on that point.
The shops that i primarily deal with have been receptive to these ideas and have not given me anywhere near the negative reactions that you'all have.

Step 1. is FREE. Step 2 costs around 600. I've yet to read a logical reason for not publishing results to the net.

    1. post air quality results on the net
    2. install an inline CO detector

just like god, customers can also say "No" and then spend money elsewhere.

Dude, read JahJah's posts. I think you're coming at this from a difficult angle. It is starting to sound like two people discussing religion or politics.

And I've yet to read a logical reason why shops should publish their results to the net......

As you stated, the shops you primarily deal with are posting their results online...... so what's the big deal?

Where was the logical reason why not to post them?

That being said, I have no problem getting fills from CEE. There are other reasons why or why not to pick a particular shop for fills. If you have concern, a conversation with the person responsible for maintenance is probably 10x more telling than the lab results. How about publishing a report of how each shop handles ensuring their gas is pure and equipment is functioning properly? Then post a log in plain site where you can see the date and name of the person who last did a particular check/procedure. If you like the way a site says they handle themselves, show up for a fill and check their log and lab results to verify.

I'm not trying to disagree with you that this would be a nice thing. We are on the same side of the fence, but coming at it from different angles. You see it as a necessity, I see it as a luxury.

Maybe dive shops are different in Texas. Here, I'm friends with the dive shops I go to. They've kept the shop open late for me, and opened early for me. I've gone diving with some employees, and eaten dinner with some of them. They know me by name. I don't need them to post anything online because I can pick up the phone and call, or just see it when I stop by.

I agree that a CO monitor is a huge deal, I'd absolutely love to see one of those at every shop by the fill panel, underneath the test results. I'd make that priority number one, after quarterly results posted at the store, and before quarterly results posted online. The culture in north florida is such that I think very few divers feel online results are a top priority.

You are the only person I have ever heard who would refuse to shop somewhere even though they have the results you want, just because they aren't on a website.

Let me put it this way: if no shops in north florida posted them online but they did have them at the fill station, and they were all amazingly perfect, would you really refuse to get a fill at those shops and instead drive back to Texas for a fill during your dive trip?

The irony here is that the same gentleman who maintains the compressors, changes the filters and takes care of the gas at CEE also does the same at Amigos and Cave Excursions and probably some others in the area that I don't know about.....

Maybe there should be a sign in view that says "Employees must wash hands after filling Tanks"

I like the one we have that sits underneath our gas analysis results by the main gauges.....
