Madison Blue Tank Racks

Volunteers from the North Florida Springs Alliance worked about 6 hours today constructing 3 new tank racks for Madison Blue Springs. We plan to install them in conjunction with the cleanup scheduled at the spring this weekend. See http://www.northfloridaspringsalliance.org/ for more details.

We will need 3 or 4 folks who are somewhat mechanically inclined to assist us in putting the pieces together, digging holes and concreting them into the ground.

What we really need is a way to run lag bolts into the wood, if anyone has a battery powered tool that will do this. Please let any of us know if you can help.

1/2 " heads I think.....about 3 inches long.

Jim, I probably cant make it up there this weekend, but you are welcome to use my two impact guns. They can run in up to 5/8' bolts if you drill a decent holes first and spray some soapy water in the hole. The dirvers are 3/8"

The boards have been countersunk, and pilot holes drilled. If we have a battery powered impact, or one run off a generator, it will do the job no problem.

I visited MSP last Sunday. Ranger Craig requested we mark any tools and equipment we bring to keep them from getting mixed up with the park's gear.

All the tank benches have been installed,but the concrete will need a couple days to cure. Thanks a lot to the crew today who helped assemble and mount them. Thanks again for the construction crew who built and transported everything.
