Anyone hit Hudson Grotto recently?
I checked the Cave Atlas, and the last report was me. Has anyone hit it recently?
I am itching to get in the water again. It has been almost 2 months. I was sick for month of that time. My last dive was at the Ginnie CDF Social. I also need to get my doubles emptied to send them off for hydro.
Bert was there Saturday but hasn't posted a report yet. I will urge him to.
Let me know if I can tag along, I've never been.
Not 100% sure we will end up there this weekend or not. The boss is not real fond of <70 degree water reported there.
It is a fun contrast to the great vis and enclosed spaces we are use to. Last time I was there sunlight was lost around 50' down. Vis was about 10' at best.

I was down there a couple of weeks ago. The water temp was around 60 and the viz on the 20' platform was around 5-10 ft. The water was so tannic on the bottom that you could barely see a HID light from about 10 feet away. There were also sulfide layers everywhere down on the bottom of them. Most of my bottom time was in sulfide.
I wouldn't want to go dive it again right now for free.

That sucks. Do you remember exactly how long ago it was? I have 2 reports (Bert, and Scuba West staff) that vis is decent (20ft) as of last week/weekend.
It was the first weekend in Feb.

I called again this morning. They said 25' reported. Sounds "crackin" for the grotto.
Anyone up for Hudson Grotto Saturday morning? Just a shakedown dive in some new gear.
