Default Peacock Springs is open to cave diving.

We are open for cave diving now. Please remember the water is still tannic colored and the cave is dark from the tanic water. The viz is 20'-40'
and the flow is up. They tell me the Peanut Tunnel is pull & pull.
Also there is a tree in the Waterhole Sink the sink and the Waterhole cave tunnel are closed to all diving at this time. Mike M and Lee Ann are the first official divers in the system. Kelly, Jim & Jim Fishback conducted the check out dive.
PS Celia come on out to play!

It helps when you live less than 2 miles away, your gear is always in the back of your van and your tanks are full

Yep, got a tip on the cell phone and managed to sneak one in before the park closed, went up the mainline. Flow is going pretty good for Peacock. Walls are dark brown but not "fuzzy" like after the hurricane floods. Cool dive, looks like Manatee without the high flow.

It's bad luck to be superstitious.

Ok Mike, just rub it in now... I really tried but it was not to be. I did get my deco cookie though (secretly the reason I come to Luraville, diving is just an excuse)

See you all next weekend or during the week if I can.

    You know I had to

Mike - sitting here with a cup of coffee and a deco cookie...pouring salt into to the wound LOL

I'll be around the shop next weekend then my schedule changes to time off from the park during the week (Tuesdays & Wednesdays) thank God, the weekends in cave country are getting nuts, Ginnie was a zoo yesterday. I would rather be off mid week and deal with a fraction of the diver pressure.

You are not kidding, Mike - we counted five reels off the main line by the sign in the ear when we first went in on Sat. We had to wait a few minutes to actually be able to enter via the ear on our second dive and there were plenty of traffic jams in the cave at all the tight spots.

Kind of fun actually when going down the main line as every tunnel we looked down was lit up by HID's at one point or other...

Can't wait to get back up there and hop back into PII. Hope y'all save me a deco cookie, too.

    Default Hey Mike M -

How is LR doing? I've been in Ginnie because of the floods but I am itching to get into LR again.

My last 29 dives have been at Jackson Blue. I am ready for flow that is "pretty good for Peacock."
