John, I have you down for a chainsaw and pressure cleaner - thank you. The one thing I am not sure of is how many feet of hose that we need for the pressure cleaner. I'll talk with Kelly and park management later this week and let you know if we need any photos/measurements. Thanks again.

Currently, our options include painting and caulking a barn roof, clearing weeds and undergrowth, filling holes in the parking lot, repairing picnic tables, pressure cleaning steps, and picking up debris. There is a possibility of some plumbing and painting work in the bath houses. If you have expressed an interest in the clean-up, let me know your first and second choices from the list above if you have any. I’ll do what I can.

Most equipment and materials will be provided but an extra pressure cleaner, 200 feet of garden hose, shovels, loppers, a chainsaw, hand saws, and a wheel barrow will help us. Let me know what tools you may be able to bring.

We will provide lunch for all participants. Again, thank you for your upcoming volunteer efforts. I will post more information within a week or so.

Thanks again to all of you who have volunteered. It looks like we have about 20 confirmed with the potential for a few others. A couple of housekeeping notes.
    1. Bring a pair of work gloves. If you are clearing brush or debris, filling holes, etc they will be needed.
    2. If you do not already have an annual pass to cover everyone in your vehicle, let me know so I can get you a day pass. I believe this has to be done in advance and not at the gate.

Thanks again and see you next week!

    Safe diving,

    Hey all,

Saturday will be here before we know it. To date, we have about 18 participants so we should be able to accomplish a good bit for Madison Blue. We still have room for more so call me or show up at 8:30AM if you are interested.

A reminder to bring sunscreen, gloves (and dive gear). If you have an extra shovel, loppers, screw gun/grill and batteries, bring those too. Too many will be OK. A reminder that we will provide lunch, soft drinks, and water so that is one less thing to worry about.

Work to be done may include debris removal, filling potholes, roof repair, pressure cleaning, basic wood repair, and possibly some painting. If you have a preference, let me know. Kelly and I will have it figured out before you arrive on Saturday.

One worthy trait of cave divers is how we come together on projects like this. On behalf of the NACD, NFSA, and eco-USA Volunteer, thank you for your participation and efforts to keep our dive sites looking good and to show the general public and park management that we care. See you Saturday.

    Safe diving,

    Sandy Robinson
