Yes. But I have forgotten more than I play now... it is a marriage thing.

So is cave diving today as safe as it's going to get?

The sport/activity has come a long way since its inception, is this the best we can do?

Where did you get the impression Adam is stage diving?? AFAIK, the only stage dive he has done was the one during cave class. Carrying a stage doesn't equal doing a stage dive.

I've spent a lot of time with Adam in the water and on the surface. If I felt he was being unsafe in any way, I'd be the first one to call him out on it. I've turned away divers because I got bad vibes over the phone. I've held back certifications because of concerns with divers' skills/attitudes. Maybe because I know Adam I'm reading more into his posts than others (in the opposite direction of others), but I'm as sure as I can be without going on every dive with him that the dives he's doing are conservative and safe.

Nor can we plan for it or design around it. Why we keep trying I will never know. All the bells and whistles in the universe won't prevent stupidity.

Just Curious, but who or what incident(s) are you referring to? Typically these incidents are all a bit different with the only common thread being poor decision making or perhaps a health issue.

The only cave diver I am aware of with thousands of years under his belt is Forrest - and he's still alive.

There's a rumor out there that Forrest was sump diving in Peacock when the glaciers melted and filled it.
