I guess I'm a little jaded myself after meeting a few people who are no longer with us.

I'm a firm believer in mentoring. This allows new divers to get accustomed to doing things the way they were taught in a manner that allows personal growth as well as exposure to alternative ideas and methods.
I'm with you 100% on that type of advice. I'm also a firm believer in mentoring. I won't give dive planning advice on the open forum. However, advice on buying gear is different than advice on how to use the gear on a dive.

In the immortal words of a close friend, after puffing up my chest, and saying, "i'm full cave" he puffed up his chest and replied, "well i'm super cave". I will not forget that, and I love him for those type's of thought's. Cave on friends, we will all be dead soon enough.... enjoy it.

Can a hole really exist? Or does the matierial around the hole exist, and unnecisarily imply the word "hole"?
