We all spend time with our families in different ways. I have been blessed with a beautiful loving wife and three beautiful daughters. We home school our daughters and I work most of the time out of the house. We spend a lot of time together, more than most. I make it a point to get as much 1 on 1 time as I can with each daughter. Every Saturday I take 1 daughter to breakfast and then to do something else of their choosing, boating, diving, fishing, flea market, yard sales, etc. just her and me. My girls are now 11, 14 & 15. In October I took my youngest to REACT at Rennaker's and didn't do any cave diving. We dove Orange Grove Saturday afternoon, feated on the fantastic food, camped in the field overnight and went diving at Troy Sunday Morning. When we got home we went Trick or Treating. Over New years I took my oldest and youngest to Ginnie for the Galaxy Dive. And on Friday and Saturday they wanted to go fishing by themselves and let me go for a couple of cave dives. On Saturday afternoon I took my youngest for a fun dive in the run with my scooter just running up and down between Little Devil and the Ear. I also do most of the running with them, school drop off & pick up, doctor appointments, etc. After all that my only me time is diving and I probably could do more, but I try to do it when Ann has her time with the girls. My oldest will be taking Cavern soon and is looking forward to seeing what I am fascinated with.

Everyone makes choices that they think are the best for themselves and their families. It doesn't mean that one person is right or wrong. I choose to dive.

I've met all three of Mark's girls. They are three outstanding, respectful young ladies, and Mark deserves Daddy of the Decade as far as I'm concerned.

I started diving when I was 12....with both of my parents. Some great memories there. Too bad you decided to give up your hobbies rather than include your family in them.

Seriously, who pissed in your cornflakes this morning to cause this unprovoked attack?

Yea, it was because some loudmouth told his instructor that he had his Abe Davis before he finished Full Cave.

If anyone cares, I got my Abe Davis in 1979, the same year the program started.

Way to go Mark! On the award and the family time you all share. Im not quite there yet since Im seasonal but I do log em all. Some folks cave dive a long time before finishing full, to start counting. Sounds like Putz needs to get the family into some courses.

I have to wonder how often you get the urge to be the A hole of the day with your family, Richard. There is no need for mean spirited posting here. Congratulations, Mark , on your accomplishments in diving, and with the raising of your family.
