Don't get me wrong here, but you might want to get a copy of Hancocks map and study it if you want to go to stuff north of the bats. I have no idea what your experience level is but I would learn all the passages up to the ice palace from both directions, and skid row can be really nasty, and you got to put in two jumps if I remember correctly on the line running through the ceiling to get to the ice palace that way, if you want a taste of it try the little circuit starting at the bats that comes out on hill 400, if it gets silty you don't have to go back through it. Also as others metioned it's about 2 foot high for about 50 foot or so right before the ice palace, and the line used to be pretty flimsy in there (been a while for me maybe new line by now) but your probably going to need ti on the way out if in backmount, so check it out good on the way in.

Sorry if I am coming off as dick but this post kinda scared me.

    Hey Sid!!

No worries, John's kosher ......and Jeff replaced the line back there about 2 months ago (yeah, it needed it!) and it can be done cleanly in backmount, although some of the floor evidence says otherwise

Anyways, when are you getting your butt back down here mate? I got lots of cool stuff to show ya....

Hehe, i remember that SID's dive report about a reel fallen in a nice puffy silt and people waching it falling

    mainline-rollercoaster += 1
    rollercoaster-shortcut +=1
shortcut under bats to skidrowcircuit +=1
    circuit-skidrow line at ceiling +=1
    skidrow-doublearrowlines +=1
    double lines - Linns(?) +=1
total=6 jumps via rollercoaster (which is shorter than via whale's bone area)

Now about stage. Silt it up in Linns line and get out trough 6 jumps. I'm not that brave.

Rich, feel free to use my reel in accordance with its direct product's guidelines - to dry cloth

What can I say, I'm an old lady sometimes, like I said I don't know the guy as far as I know so I have the tendency to throw out the caution flag, no harm intended. Just envisioned somebody getting really lost, I'm kinda funny about that. So let's go do a mainland scooter stage with a gear removal circuit out through sweet surprise (just kidding, I be turning in the junction room these days) really need to get back to devils but the Mill pond got all new cave so it gets tuff making it to high springs.

Which brings up that timeless question, how do you carry 10 jump reels (3 more to come out via the Double Lines circuit and down the Hill 400 plus 1 extra as per protocol) plus 2 clothes pins for the T's?

I know where I put mine, umm... let's see 4 in the pocket along with the clothespins, 2 on each chest d-ring and 2 on the butt d-ring....

And yet another great reason to have a buddie, or spool caddy depending on how you look at it. Personally I would go hill 400 (1), and jump in on the left at 1300 feet or so (2), ice palace jump at the "mini-lips" (3) and jst leave them all in for a double lines circuit second dive. Last time we went rollercoaster route I think we had six spools in going through skid row, and of course there was the exciting moment where the unfallable enclosed spool popped apart while connecting the line in the ceiling in there and we were stuck in the ceiling for about 5 minutes while it got re-assembled, amazing the amount of silt the guts of that spool made hitting the clay. Sid getting a jones for devils, anybody got some diazapam?

The few times I've been up twds Sherwood Split, I've just taken the 'highway' by Main Line to Hill 400 then jump (left) to Lins Line half way btw Hill 400 and Bats, and finally from Lins to Double Arrow Lines ...that's only three jumps prior to the jump to the Ice Room.

I do bring a stage for that swim though (because I' such a drysuit newbie gas hog).

The flow is still very low up in that area (as of Saturday)

Your tanks must be bigger then mine. I always bring a stage to do the Ice Room.
