Default DiveBook Pro 2.1 (iOS) out - adds metric support

Just posting up to let you all know 2.1 just got approved by Apple and should be live on the app store any moment. It has a few small big fixes, adds an online instruction manual (not very much written in it yet, but it will be updated continuously) and most importantly complete metric support. Metric support has been the most requested feature and I finally decided how I wanted to implement it. Check it out, as always let me know what you think.

One a side note, I am well into development of 3.0 (probably will not be ready until january or feb though, at the earliest). It is adding full native support for the iPad, which brings up the issue of syncing data between multiple devices. This adds a ton of complexity to the program and requires server side work on my part for wireless syncing. Do you think it is fair to raise the price to say $4.99 for these features? Would you pay that? All existing users would get a free upgrade of course. Im just trying to figure out the feasibility of such features.

Port it to android and I would pay that.

Is there any way to import data besides typing it in manually? Say if I wanted to put my existing log into the program so I could run the stats, have it on hand at the dive site, etc.

Not yet, but I am working on that for 3.0. There is a universal dive log format that you will be able to import hopefully. I could not use this format because it does not support nearly as much data as I wanted, so it will not have a full export feature since the universal format can not support all of my proprietary data fields.

An Android version is becoming more and more likely for the future since I may have to learn Android development for job opportunities.

Where can we get the specs on the standard log format?

Thanks. Keep me in the loop when you get this feature incorporated.

Ok, here's my feedback: a fully functional iPad version would be awesome. I'd like it if the comment page were either included on the initial view or could be swiped to (like page two, no buttons to hit), after all, most of what I'm looking to review about a site will be in the narrative. Also would like to link pics to a logbook page/dive. That way I could include photos I took on the dive or my computers deco profile, etc.

The stats page is awesome, especially how it includes user defined activites. I like how you have a space to add previous dive time. Adding previous stats would be cool too, that way I could track total cave dives versus total cave dives since using divebook pro.

Great work, please keep at it.

I'm from the government and I'm here to help.
