Default Hog regulator is it a good choice?

That I plan to dive into side mount diving deep (130 ') and next summer training TEC 40. I would get a kit HOG first and second floor for cold water, the Apeks XTX 200 seems an obvious choice but if you have another suggestion. I'm also looking side mount WHO system to allow me to change my wing for the side mount, I have trouble finding a supplier on the web, they are almost all out stock. My dives are consistently very cold water 0 and 4 degrees Celsius. I'm sorry for my English. I write with a translator. I love your site I devour each visit.

Hog regulators are very good, but the 2nd stage may not be the best choice if doing sidemounting, where the 2nd stage is exposed to sand. Sand can have a tendency to make the 2nd stage purge button stick. La bonne chance, et plonger sûr

ya, so the D1 colds are awesome. Love em, no complaints
The purges on the seconds are a little woogity, and if you loop both regs behind your neck it's probly not the best idea, but if you dive with a long hose coming up they're fine.

I use Hog D1 cold first stages with Apeks XTX seconds

XTX200's are not the obvious choice. IMHO the routing on the first stages is aweful, especially for sidemount. The 5 port turret design is by far the easiest. Allows the hoses to route down for transport and up and out when you are using them
