No I've never seen one, but I think it's fascinating that they have apparently evolved a symbiotic relationship with coins. I can see the shrimp keeps the penny shiny, but what does the coin do for the shrimp?

Hey, they have something similar in Thailand in the Mekong River. They strain up a basket of them, put a little tempura batter in and stir it up, then cook it to make shrimp cakes. Heads, husks, veins and all... not sure you'd want to vein those little things anyway. It was actually pretty good. Tated like crunchy tempura batter. LOL
I have seen a shrimp looking critter in a Panhandle cave, but can't say if he was the exact same species as yours. I can't even tell the difference between prawn and shrimp, they all taste the same to me.
