Brian I think your post is right on target. Adam does hold himself to a very high set of standards and genuinly cares about the caves and the grounds around it. I do wish more shared that same sentiment.

As for the buzzards and the trash, there is only one trash can without a lid on it. It might be helpful to only dispose of any trash in the covered trash cans. Next time I'm there I will flip the lidless trash cans over so they aren't used, similar to to one at the top of the steps right by the dive platform.

I agree with Scubabrownie, most, if not all feeling and tone is lost in text. Perhaps I took it wrong and if I did, I appologize. When I was reading it, it came across as "meet me outside after school and we'll handle it." I just never understand how some people feel that because it isn't theirs, they shouldn't have to pick it up. As far as me not understanding the military or having the wrong impression of the Marine Corps, I have a pretty good understanding of it and definantly don't have the wrong impression which is why it bothered me that a Marine would have such a problem with it.(what I thought while reading the post, which apparently I took wrong). No matter where I am, I always do my absolute best to ensure I leave it in better condition than when I got there. Anyway, as I said before, I appologize, I jumped to conclusions over text that could have been said verbally with any number of tones, I just chose to think it was the negative and that is what I appologize for. I hope to get a chance to dive with you one day. Good luck in Oki and if you ever come Hawaii way, look me up and maybe we can go diving.

Huh? What steps? What dive platform? Do you mean the diving board? Is there a trash can there?

First off thank you to anyone who backed me up on this topic. One thing those of you who know me and those of you who may one day meet will soon find out is that I am a very sarchastic person. I use it as a way to convey my humor but many people take it offensive, and obviously when typed words have no feeling. therefore are easily missinterpited. As for violence, like I said I have enough of that in my work and have no desire to carry it over into my hobbies. While in the Marines I believe very much in leaving something better then I find it and on many occasions have had to pick up trash, cig butts, human fecies and on a more then one occasion human body parts to include a penis of of the hood of my humvee. So I am not above picking up anything, but state side with out gloves or something to pick it up with I feel that a used condom represents a health hazard. I am not a doctor or a health professoional so I am a little uneducated on the transfer of std's which is all the more reason I am reluctant to pick them up. As said I accept any appologies and am sorry for the mussunderstanding. as stated all I care about is people being safe and us retaining the PRIVALGES.

I pick 'em up with a stick about two feet long. That way I can either: A) flip them into the trash, or B) whip them at people who annoy me.

Fortunately option B has seldom been necessary.
