Default Whats up with Lafayette Blue?

We went over there Sunday and the place was a ghost town. Not a soul was there and the whole spring is surrounded by yellow tape like a crime scene. The steps to the water are gone. Kitty sink looked good though and vis is quite good supposedly so I thought Laff might have some decent vis as well . I know its not too poular but with REACT next Saturday, some may have had plans to dive it. Dont bother!

we dove it by boat last wednesday... at the time there was a construction crew with chainsaws ripping out the old stairs. I had never been there before and didn't bother going up to find out what was going on... looks like some renovation. We didn't see any other divers, just some tourists taking pictures and such. I had an equipment issue that couldn't be resolved so we only dove the cavern... viz was around 30', which I hear is good for this site. Not much flow present in the cave/cavern but there was a good bit of water flowing out the spring run into the river. I'm planning to go back and dive again in a few weeks.

Never realy heard of it, can anyone give me some info.
    Recent conditions, sidemount or backmount?

Large going passage (no issue with BM), 20-30ft viz, several T's, old line, lot fewer distance markers than most are used to, etc. It's a nice cave, but you rarely get to see both walls due to the viz. If you've got things left to see in Ginnie, Peacock, etc, I don't think you'll really enjoy this cave. If you've run out of new cave to see at those places, this will satisfy that need.

i would recommend getting in at one of bill's sinks if you're going to dive it instead of the headspring
