    Default Interpretive Trail at Peacock

The end of a 5 year plan has finally arrived. Although we are not completely done, with some small finishing touches needed, the trail is walkable.

Please note this trail is a huge addition to the park system in Florida, and is regarded as one of the BEST interpretive trails in Florida, and is highly regarded by Tallhassee. This is very important because the trail was created, sponsored, designed, and built by cave divers.

This trail is a virtual cave dive that actually superimposes real cave passage, but along the way people are being educated on things such as aquifers, sinks, karst, species in the caves, and cave diving.

There are so many people to thank that made this project happen, that CDF will have to provide me with extrabandwidth to list them. But,the greatest thanks is if you get out and walk the trail, patronize the sponsors, and give it word of mouth in your community.

The trail starts at the right of the P1 platform with a kiosk that is visible. It traverses 1.05 miles, and comes back to the original starting point.

    Enjoy
    Sincerely

I think you should write an article for the NSS News. THANKS to the volunteers!

Land of Enchantment -- not so great for cave diving, but mighty scenic!

I was diving on Saturday at Peacock. I was amazed to find the parking area almost full when I arrived at 8:30-AM, then it became clear that the "crowd" wasn't diving but instead was working to place the signage on the interpretive trail. Several trucks with signs and full of volunteer workers spent the entire day installing the signage. Bravo to all of you who had the foresight, skills, energy, and vision to give of your time to make this happen. Bravo.
