Sandys thread about a wing malfunction should be a wakeup call of the one piece of redundance many cavers dont have. Since I only dive wet I have a dual rec wing but only one inflator hose and I keep the corregated hose tucked until needed. Crawling out of a cave isnt an option in some places , ask Larry Green about the guy in Eagles Nest. I recently went sidemount but couldnt afford a dual Nomad so I rigged my old dual rec to work. Ive dove with dozens of wetsuit divers with no redundant lift. The cheap plastic and rubber that makes up the dump valves would worry me more than a bladder rupture but either one could happen. I would urge everyone to re think their kit and its redundance to lift. Murphy got Sandy and luckily he was in a rocky ststem and not over mud. Glad it worked out well.
