    Default Buford Spring

So we braved the heat and headed out to Buford early this morning (only had to kill 1 water moccasin). I heard there was a lot of trash out there so we figured we would clean it up.

The trash was non existent save 1 beer bottle, 1 beer can and some tile debris at the spring. The major disappointment was seeing "LUANA" carved in the limestone at 33' and 35' (yes twice). This may have been there for some time, we were rooting around in some odd places and found it; it sucks either way. Removed 12 glory markers (cave trash) as well.

WARNING: It is currently bow season in the WMA. If you are ever out there while hunters are out, make sure you stop in and let the ranger know where you are headed and find out if hunters are on the tram road leading out to Buford.

Walter, if you saw no broken tile debris around the big stump somebody had to have picked it up.
    It was pretty obvious.

Whoever did the clean up, good job and thanks.

BTW there is another ginormous cotton mouth with babies scurrying around on the south side of Warm Springs if you feel like evicting them too. Her presence kept me from free diving the spring the other week.

Well yeah but I was was torn over an unprovoked extermination.
She wasn't buggin me so I let her be and It's her spring anyway.

Now flash the mouth or move toward me and I have no problem reloading twice.

I agree 100%...I pretty much have a live and let live philosophy. I grew up hunting and fishing, had a good run in with Mother Nature and now I do neither. I don't really have much need to venomous snakes though; I don't weep at their deaths. Non venomous snakes, I love them..well, I like them around for what they eat.

Yeah, me too, unless we're talking about water moccasins. They all should die. Twice.

Locally, we have what's called the Oxbow Meadows Environmental Learning Center. I went out there to watch a raptor release, and while I was there I went in the building where they have about twenty terrariums, with different snakes in them.

I went over to the docent and told her, "You get me a hoe and I'll take care of that water moccasin for you."

Glad to hear the viz has improved. I haven't ever seen Buford when it's clear. I am looking forward to checking it out soon.

I saw a huge cottonmouth out at Dove Outreach a few weeks back.
