Dumb Discovery Channel show

I just watched Dual Survival "out of air" what a dumb show.
It starts out by introducing cave diving as the new "adventure" sport and then goes on to say that of the 20 or so unlucky people who drown each year cave diving, a few lucky ones escape but end up getting lost in a dry cave and that even if they survive the "lost in a dry cave" part they would anyway be miles and miles into the jungle anyway.

Does Discovery ever check to see if anything like this actually ever happened? I have never heard of such a thing ever happening.

Don't think they check their facts but surely it pleases most (I said 'most') of their audience!

Not having a TV, I haven't seen this show. But the September 2010 NSS News that I got today has (on pages 14 & 15) a copy of a letter to the Discovery Channel from the Cave Research Foundation remonstrating with them about "...the recent Discovery Channel program featuring the wanton killing of bats by "Bear" Grylls, backed up by virulent anti-bat propaganda. This is absolutly abhorrent." The August NSS News had a letter from the NSS to the Discovery Channel about the same program.

Sounds like the folks at the Discovery Channel need to be taken out to the woodshed!
