2010/2011 New Year's Social!

The next social is in the planning stage - the calendar is good to us this year. New Year's Eve is a Friday, which obviously makes New Year's Day a Saturday.

The idea we bounced around at yesterday's social was a mini-cookout (maybe just hot dogs and chips) at the Ginnie Spring Pavilion around 7pm December 31, leading up to a Midnight Galaxy Dive in the Ginnie Ballroom (Bob, Mark and I have this galaxy dive thing down to a science). Then wake up January 1 to a full CDF Social at the Little Devil Pavilion from around 10am to 4pm.

I'm hoping Bob K and Herbie will team up to make it the best social ever.

Dang going to have to miss another one my airboat club has it annual 'Howl At The Moon" on Lake Kissimiee same time, so maybe catch one another time. have fun

Hear ye, hear ye! Ginnie Springs Outdoors has come up with another reason for cave divers to attend the CDF Galaxy Dive and Social!

In addition to providing us with pavilions (at no charge) for both events, as well as grills, ice, and other amenities, Rose has given us a special two-day entrance - $30 for entry for both Friday and Saturday.

Is this only for certified cave divers? I think it is going to work out that I will be there Friday and Saturday, but I am not a cave diver yet.

No you dont have to be certified cave or cavern to dive the main spring, only OW.

This is a possibility for me, especially if Friday is our company holiday with New Year's falling on a Saturday. Will check the work calendar tomorrow.
