Default Dive Rite's Analox (He & O2 combined) analyzer question

I bought this gizmo this weekend. The He analyzer seems to be working fine. I pulled off the sticker over the O2 analyzer and tried to use it. But the calibration knob is almost completely unresponsive. At first it read .1% O2. After a day of sitting in open air, it will now at least go up to 1.2% O2. Still, that's a long way from 20.9% O2 where it needs to be before it's calibrated correctly.

At this rate, the analyzer won't be usable for another 20 days. Has anyone else experienced a problem with this?

Sounds like you got a dead sensor. Complain and get a new one - should be covered under warranty seeing as its brand new.

I recenty had the same behavior from a sensor that had been stored in a plastic bag for several months, and it immediately cleared when I just blew on it.

I have Dive Rite's Analox (He & O2 combined) analyzer and I never had that problem. I agree with Genesis, it sounds like your oxygen sensor is dead. Contact the place where you bought your analyzer and have them help you resolve the problem.

Also, what "Al" said about oxygen sensors is true. When you keep them in a sealed environment, you need to wake them up to get a true reading. This usually happens when they are exposed to air for about 24 hours. Another way to wake them up faster is to keep them in oxygen overnight.
