Wow! I met him 25 years ago and to me his name has been synonymous with the cave diving ever since. I'm shocked...

I never met him, but I connected with him in so many articles and movies and photo shoots. Wes made pictures and video that took my breath away, that inspired and encouraged me to learn to do this crazy thing we shared. He had an amazing eye and the skills and the willingness to do incredibly hard work to bring stunning images back to the rest of us.

I am terribly saddened by the death of someone I never got a chance to thank.

I too am at lost of such an influential man. His passion and love for the underwater world was demonstrated in his breathtaking images and films. Wes you will be sorely missed.

    My condolences to his family.

Wes had a contagious enthusiasm that never waned. He was an outstanding ambassador for our community and a champion for the environment. I will always treasure the few times I was fortunate enough to interact with him. He will be sorely missed.

I'm from the government and I'm here to help.

I only know of him through his work (his DVDs etc.). But what I saw was brilliant. I wish I'd had a chance to get to know him..... At least I'll have those DVDs. Those who have knowledge of him "first hand" (ie. his "stories" etc.), please try and keep them as close as possible, so that we will all be able have fond memories of him someday. The more we can do that, the longer he stays alive in all of us.

My deepest sympathies to the family and close friends.
