Such terrible news to hear tonight. His legacy will live on within the work that he loved.

Wow, you never expect to see an icon of the sport pass away. I didn't know him that well, but I have great memories of him visiting our school and giving presentations on various diving related productions, organizing field trips, and even premiering a movie at the rat hole to locals first. I worked at Flair Pro Color Lab in Gainesville where he came on a few occasions and was one of the most pleasant customers we had. I always looked forward to seeing his work and would pick his first just because it was guaranteed to be interesting.

Huge shoes to fill as a person, photographer and explorer. I hope the family gets half of the support for the community that Wes put into it!

Wow, a huge loss to the cave diving community! May he rest in peace and may his family find solace in the fact that he touched many lives!

Godspeed Wes, you're in the hands of the Almighty now. My condolences to the family, I know your pain all too well. Take care and lean on God.

Oh my god... I just heard from some other friends. He was an icon of this community and it is so very sad that he has gone. My condolences to friends and family.

Everyone spends the first nine months of life in water. The lucky ones make frequent return visits.

What a tragedy . . . Wes had such a passion for life and dedicated himself to sharing the aquatic environment with the world. Fair Winds and Following Seas my friend.
