    yo

As I am shocked and speechless I deeply feel the loss of one of my heroes, mentor and friend. My deepest heartfelt condolences go to the family.

When the world loses an artist it is just a little bit smaller and less interesting... But the amazement and appreciation others have for his work was, no doubt, a source of joy in his life. And the inspiration that he gave, even to those he never met, will be his legacy.

    God's speed.

As a pastor I am amazed that some of my best communions with God are when I am in the underworld!

I met Wes one time at Ginnie and corresponded with him by email. Never met a nicer more genuine person. A great loss to this community and he was a great example of how to treat others.

Are the photographs hanging in the Great Outdoors restaurant in High Springs from Wes? There are a number of wonderful pictures around the dining room and bar.

I've truly enjoy his DVDs and photos including the recent National Geographic issue. God Bless.

Yes, I believe they are. I bought the Secrects to be discovered autographed picture at Great Outdoors several years ago. It is the one with the two divers hovering over the ear and a canoer in the background on the santa fe. My favorite diving picture.

NPR had a piece on Wes this morning. I just caught the last sentence as I got in the car. Now I found it as a webcast:

Land of Enchantment -- not so great for cave diving, but mighty scenic!
