    Talking Mexico Trip Report

Just got back from Mexico. Had a great time diving there. While there I dove Dos Ojos, Nohoch Nah Chich, Cenote Fenomenon, and Cenote Minotauro. Had had an excellent guide who made each dive very memorable.

At Dos Ojos we dove the Barbie tunnel upstream. Temp was 78, max depth was 26' and the total dive time was 80 minutes.

On Dive 2 we dove the River Run tunnel downstream. Temp was 77, max depth was 33' and total dive time was 60 minutes. I managed to take a bunch of picture on these dives. If intererested checkout out my website at http://boozerhome.com/LogViewer.aspx?LogId=75.

Unfortunately I forgot my camera charger so these are all the pictures I managed to get. It's ashame because each dive got better.

On Dive 3 we dove the main line from Cenote Nohoch Nah Chich. This was the most spectacular cave I have ever seen. There were formations around every corner. We also prayed when we reached Heaven's Gates. What an awsome system. The temp was 77, the max. depth was 29' and the total dive time was 99 minutes.

Dive 4 we dove a new site called Cenote Fenomenon. I was told this cave was recently surveyed and very few people have been there. The cave had many formations and some extra suprises we jumped to off the main line. A saw a huge skeleton. The skeleton was not complete but I am guessing it was a Mastadon based on the size of the hip bones. Next suprise was some Mayan pottery. This piece of pottery has probably sat here for over 1000 years. This was an amazing dive. Temp was 77, the max depth was 56, and the dive time was 77 minutes.

Dive 5 and 6 were at Cenote Minotauro. When swam the Halocline circuit in different directions on each dive. The overlap on both dives was the most interesting part giving us plenty of time to play with the halocline. The halocline was pretty cool. This was a fun dive that did a pretty good job of challenging my skills. Temp was 77. On dive 5 the max. depth was 50' and the dive time was 68 minutes. On dive 6 the max. depth was 49' and the dive time was 72 minutes.

I was guided by Natellie Gibb and she did an excellent job.

I also did some snorkeling at Dos Ojos on the way back from viewing the Tulum Ruins. I was a great way for me and the wife to cool off.

Natalie's great, isn't she? It blows me away to see her put her doubles on on the ground and then stand up in them . . . as far up as she can stand, anyway

I loved White River (which is the next cenote up from Phenomenon). I suspect you went through there on the way to the big pot. It is a privilege to see such unscarred cave.

Glad you had a good trip -- I can't wait until November for my next one!

Glad you liked it Doc. It is always amazing to see Nat or should I say her doubles walk around to or from the water! Cheers Nat!
If I may add something, as a Frenchman always do, the cenote is called Fenomeno. FWIW

Hasta pronto - see you soon

Thanks for the clarification on the name. Now I can find some information about it.
