Post Manatee Springs State Park Rules info

Having called and personally verified with the Rangers at MSSP the rule for cavediver limits is 8 divers max in the system at ONE time , as these divers exit , an equal amount can enter. As far as alcohol it is only permitted at a campsite and only as long as things do not get out of hand. That means sharing a cold brew with friends is possible after diving. We will not allow excessive drinking by anyone at our Social. This was all verified PRIOR to deciding on a venue for our gathering. The reason I post this is because i have had two members post about 8 diver limits per day and no alcohol allowed (see rule #8 below). Please feel free to call the Rangers of MSSP if anyone has any questions. Lets get ready for some great cavediving and fun at the CDF Summer Social , thanks.

    Manatee Springs State Park Rules

3 * All plants, animals and park property are protected. The collection, destruction or disturbance of plants, animals or park property is prohibited.
4 * Pets are permitted in designated areas only. Where allowed, pets must be kept on a hand-held leash, no longer than six feet and well behaved at all times. Service animals are welcome in all areas of the parks.

You gotta be kidding me Bill! Those were the hardcore forming days. Don't make me put up SID's backplate photos. Remember we all had blue lines we could comment on and the thread would get so stretched.......

Cindy was wanted "DOA", Duncan was in Speedos, Angie was getting lightning hits in the Hill 400, John M was kickin' ass and we still had to deal with John L's "body humor"......

It wasn't gentler, people were less angry than they are now, I remember you coming by my apt for the atomic clock incident, hanging out at your son's apt at UF with Jeffs "new " map....

These days, well I just cave dive you know.....

    Safe diving,

    Rich

Actually, i am just cave diving as well, got nearly 4 hours of bottom time on one dive last week, i am impressed with the rebreather. A lot of water under the bridge since we hit that vw 5 feet too deep in zuber and i had to buy another dive there I try not to think about that aborted diepolder dive but do remember the nest dive when "I" was on time.

Looking at the things that generate angst these days it does seem like things are much more mean spirited. I remember asking the question here about the mechanics on using a stage and sid replied, "I assume you are serious" (as a newbie i was ) and then he proceeded to explain the process...what would happen today from a question like that? You were a moderator here then if i remember right. Bill

Hell yes I used to moderate but it was different! SID nailed people back in the day, but it was always light spirited and people took it that way, now it's death, doom and gloom.....you're gonna die! No subtle encouragement here....

Yes it was and is different, maybe i'm just being nostalgic but it seems to me it was a bit friendlier back then... at the end of the day lets just get in some good dives and learn something about the systems we dive.
