Flow was quite hard. Florida Room, Merry-go-round would be reachable for most ...with considerable effort.
Vis was "fair" in the 30'-40' range.
Parking lot was full of locals by 10 am.

Wow. I was there 2 days ago . Water level was still somewhat high, about half way to the walkway and a moderate flow. The vis was good, better than I had seen it in quite some time.. Easy pull and glide, made it to 800ft on merry-go-round to Florida room before I hit thirds. In low flow I usually get to around 1200 ft before I hit thirds. Guess all that rain Friday night changed things. We went at 0800 on a weekday and we were the only ones there.

Its summer, it was a hot day and a weekend..so really my only reason for mentioning the locals and the full parking lot was to say that parking is at a premium.
Actually some of the female "locals" were looking pretty darn good yesterday!
We had no deco time but ..what the heck lets hang here a while longer.

You got that right, especially back before the "improvements". The goal as a cave diver was to go during the week and get the heck out of there before A) school let out, and B) before they woke up.

I can recall one late Thursday evening, calling the Suwanee County Sheriff's office, due to a bolder that was smashed through my window while we dove. Luckily, I had my wallet in my light can, but the thief stole all our clothes.

Needless to say, from the perspective of an observer at the gas station, we must have been a sight to see... 3 divers standing at a pay phone, in their boxers, at midnight.
