I was curious if you were heading out to Hawaii this summer for the next Pirates installment. Didn't you work on at least two of the previous films?

Hey Gene,
Yes, I was DSO on Pirates 2 and 3, but I won't be working on this one. First of all it's in Hawaii, so it is within US territory. That mean's I would lose my tax free status if I worked more than a few days inside the US. The other reasons are that the Marine Coordinator that usually hires me isn't in charge on this one, nor am I a SAG guy, so all the good jobs will go to SAG folks on the west coast. Oh well....guess I'll just have to go cave diving instead!

Sounds like it's a win-win for you Brian. I guess Dan is not the marine coordinator on this one. Dan and some of the west coast "regulars" had fun on Piranha last summer. (Remember -- they passed on their greetings to you.)
The movie should come out in late August.
One of these days I'll get back to the Bahamas. I've been there a handful of times through the years but not recently. I'll certainly let you know.
